Continuous discharge apparatus, rotary; containers, details of construction of.-Rotary chamber apparatus for drying granular materials comprises an inclined rotating drum 1, Fig. 1, having longitudinal cells 1<a>, Fig. 3, and mounted within a brickwork chamber 11. The drum is supported upon rollers 4 and a shaft 3, and the chamber communicates through an opening 14 with a furnace arranged adjacent to the chamber. The feed end of the drum is fitted within a fixed casing 8 to which is secured a shoot 9 for supplying the material to the drum and a fan 10 for drawing off vapour from the interior of the drum. The material passes through the drum and is discharged from the chamber by a conveyer 13, and the furnace gases pass around and through the drum to the exhaust flue which is arranged upon the top of the chamber.
