Abstract

162,366. Twiss, G. V. Jan. 24, 1920. Boits; washers. - A clamp comprises a screwthreaded stern with one or more longitudinal recesses in the threaded surface engaged by one or more projections on a washer, each projection extending through the nut on the stem and being formed with a lateral extension to engage the surface of the nut remote from the washer. The U-shaped bolt 13 has two threaded limbs 10, 11 to receive a nut 12. The washer 15 has apertures 17 for the limbs 10, 11 which are supported by a central block 18, at the ends of which are the projections 19, 20 with the lateral extensions 21, 22. The nut and washer may be locked to the bolt by passing a split pin through apertures 27 in the nut and washer and between the limbs of the bolt.
