Abstract

Nozzles for producing whirling and like sprays. -A spray-producer for spraying oil fuel or other liquid consists of a body a, Fig. 1, a flanged diaphragm e provided with a conical projection f, and ports g tangential to the base of the conical projection as shown in Fig. 2, and the axes of which have the same projected angle as the cone f, and a combined nozzle and retaining-nut c adapted to fit within the flange of the diaphragm e, and having a conical recess d terminating in a restricted outlet. When assembled, the cone f projects into the recess d in the nozzle forming a conical angular whirling space for the liquid. Interchangeable nozzles with various sizes of conical recess and outlet are used to cut off more or less the outlets of the ports g. In a modification, the nozzles are made separate and are held in position by a retaining-nut.
