Abstract

161,087. Wanklyn, F. L. May 20, 1920. Pyrotechnic devices.-Consists in making railway signal fuzes with a smoke-producing charge c in addition to the illuminating charge d. A small amount of materials n, such as red arsenic, may also be added to produce a pungent odour. The bottom g of the fusee is heavy and provided with a spike h. The upper end is closed by a cap i provided with an igniting patch g<1> and secured in place by a tape k, which must be torn off to permit the cap to be removed and the igniting patch to be struck on the end of the fusee for igniting it.
