179,999. Wanklyn, F. L. Feb. 9, 1921. Pyrotechnic devices.-Relates to railway signalling detonators of the kind intended to be attached to the rails, as described in Specification 162,201. According to the invention, the detonator container has relatively short folded-under ends and the whole is so constructed that no metal is above the explosive charge. The casing may contain, in addition to the explosive charge, some flash-light powder, smoke-producing powder and powder giving a pungent odour on ignition. Fig. 1 shows the rail clip 2, 3, engaged with the casing 6 by folding the edges with the casing ends. Fig. 5 shows a clip attached by small metal fasteners 5. The casing may be roughened by sanding it after treatment with a water-proofing composition.
