Abstract

343,859. Projectiles. BRANDT, E. W., 101, Boulevard Murat, Paris. June 20, 1930, No. 18859. Convention date, June 20, 1929. [Class 9 (i).] A projectile 1 is made with an annular weakened zone 2 occupying a small fraction of the ogival front portion of the projectile in conjunction with a small detonator 4 situated wholly within this weakened zone and separated from the walls thereof. The zone 2 may be a complete thinned annulus or a series of plugged holes around the projectile. The projectile is intended mainly for practice purposes ; but it may also be used as a signalling, smoke-producing, incendiary, or message-carrying projectile.
