Abstract

191,664. Nichols, H. J. April 19, 1922. Pyrotechnic compositions.-50 parts of red phosphorus, 3 parts of zinc oxide, 35 parts of manganese dioxide, 5 parts of magnesium, 5 parts of aluminium, and 2 parts of a desensitizing agent such as boiled linseed oil are mixed together to form a composition producing brilliant illumination and a large volume of dense smoke. The mixture may be made without aluminium.
