Abstract

160,928. Craig, V. Dec. 30, 1919. Flooring and ceiling blocks; blocks, special shapes of; roofing-blocks.-In building units of the precast type of concrete or ferroconcrete for floors, roofs, and walls of the kind comprising a surface element and a joist element, the toe of one unit engaging in the heel of the adjacent unit, the joist element, in the case of floors, is formed with means for supporting a ceiling element whereby the ceiling is hung. The units are supported at their extremities on the walls and are interlocked laterally as shown at 4, the outer unit being supported on the side walls or on a concrete beam B thereon. The, joist portion 1 is provided with an enlargement 7 to hold in position wooden ceiling supporting devices 8. Where the space requires it a short surface element without the joist portion may be used as the outer lateral element. The soffit 2a, in the case of floors, is curved or arched as shown.
