Materials, special, fabrics containing; ground weaves.-The fabric formation of a tyre cover comprises layers each formed of warp strands 10 connected by weak single weft threads 11. Each of the strands 10 is flat and comprises a number of small threads arranged parallel to each other in superposed layers. Strips of this fabric are cut on the bias (as at a-a, b-b, Fig. 3), and after impregnating with rubber solution, rubber coatings 13 14 are applied by heavy pressure so that the fabric, originally of the sectional form shown in Fig. 4, is consolidated to that shown in Fig. 7.
