Jackets and covers; tyre attachments to rims. - Relates to pneumatic-tyre covers of the kind that are composed of layers of textile or like fabric secured together by rubber solution or the like. The foundation or inner layer a is formed of woven fabric of relatively great thickness, such as machine belting, and the edges b of the layer are reduced in thickness either by removing some of the threads to form a fringe or by weaving them thinner than the intermediate part. The thin edges are wrapped round the attaching beads or cores c and secured by rubber solution. The outer part of the cover may consist of layers d of canvas or other fabric, the edges of some of which are solutioned over the thin edges of the foundation layers. Each layer of the outer part may consist of two or more circumferential strips, the adjacent edges of which are connected by a rubber strip e, the rubber strips being arranged in different positions in different layers. In a modification, the outer part consists of a layer similar to the foundation layer.
