3276. Morris, T. Feb. 8. Jackets and covers.- Pneumatic tyres are reinforced to prevent flattening on the road by strong endless or other side rings 2, 3 which are suspended from the tread midway between the tread and the inner periphery of the tyres by fabric 7 folded around them and extending from them to or around the tread. The same piece of fabric may be folded around the rings on both sides of the tyre. The fabric 7 is embodied in the tyre, or in the outer cover of a tyre having a separate air-tube, during manufacture or is placed outside a finished tyre or outer cover and covered with rubber, the whole being vulcanized. The rings may he of wire, wire fabric, rope, webbing, or the like, and more than one ring may be used at each side of the tyre.
