Abstract

Turning.-In a machine for cutting strips of varying cross-section from wood, metal, or other flexible material, particularly strips adapted to be fitted together to form a built-up rod, the work f is secured by clamps g to the edge of a chamfered disc a carried by a. shaft b and is operated upon by a rotary cutter h. A fixed cutting tool may he used if desired. For cutting tapered strips the disc may be replaced by a cylinder having ridges on its outer edge so that a number of strips may cut at the same time.
