Abstract

158,068. Wilson, G. Oct. 24, 1919 Tool - - holders for metal - cutting machines, particularly for use with thin tools such as parting and screwcutting tools, are, made in two separate parts containing corresponding grooves engaging the tool. The holder comprises the elements 1, 2, which may be serrated for gripping purposes. Cheese- .headed screws 5 limit the separation of the parts 1, 2 under the action of the springs 6<a>. The tool fits in the grooves 3, which may be longitudinal or diagonally inclined to suit particular tool angles. The parts 1, 2 are clamped in the machine in the usual manner.
