Abstract
157,631. Locomotive Superheater Co. Dec. 15, 1919. Addition to 120,391. Steam generators, radiators and coils for heating and cooling.-Dies for joining a plurality of parallel pipes as described in the parent Specification have the separating-walls 3, 4, Fig. 3, stepped, and the pipes are joined so that each one is slightly less advanced than the last. The edges 18 are trimmed and joined to form a uniform or tapered header as shown in Fig. 16. The recesses 1, Figs. 10, 13, and 17, for the pipe being added to the series, may be out of the plane of the recesses 2, 5 for the last two pipes so that alternate pipes are off-set to either side of the central line, Fig. 15. A right and left off-set pair of dies as shown in Figs. 10 and 13 may be used alternately, or a pair of dies, Fig. 17, adapted to add two pipes at one operation, is employed. In the latter case, the male die must have three branches.
