Abstract

157,299. Prollius, W. Dec. 19, 1919, [Convention date]. Jib cranes; transporters.-Two cranes a, each supported on a single rail b, are maintained in the upright position by arms carrying horizontal rollers engaging other rail tracks on the top of a standard e. With this arrangement the cranes can pass one another when both are used between the same pair of slipways and by swinging one of the cantilever bridges through a half circle from the position shown, both cranes can be used to lift a single object. The standard e is constructed with downwardly diverging sides, so that loads raised vertically from trucks run under it, will clear the sides before reaching the level of the upper rails, thus permitting the cranes to be traversed along the rails with the minimum expenditure of power in hoisting.
