Abstract

155,345. British Thomson - Houston Co., (General Electric Co.). Sept. 10, 1919. R÷ntgen-ray tubes. - The walls are made of sufficient thickness substantially to suppress audible discharges at voltages sufficient to produce such discharges in thin walled tubes. The thickness of the part 2 around the electrodes is made at least in. and preferably “ in. or more. The tube may be of lead glass with a thin inwardlyprojecting window 9 of lime glass. A tungsten filament cathode 5 and an anode consisting of a block of copper 6 containing a tungsten button are mounted in the tube, the anode stem projecting outside and carrying a radiator 8.
