Abstract

The knitting machine has eccentric discs (10) for driving out and drawing off the knitting tools (5). A variation in the stroke of the knitting tools (5) is to become possible, without the knitting tools (5) needing to be uncoupled from the eccentric discs (10) and/or moved by spring force. For this purpose, the drive connections of the knitting tools (5) to the eccentric discs (10) have play. Furthermore, an adjusting device is provided for superposing additional movements on the movements caused by the cam discs by the amount of a preselectable part of the play. The adjusting device contains loop-forming parts (40) preferably movable transversely to the direction of movement of the knitting tools (5). <IMAGE>
