Abstract

Reservoir pens. - A fountain pen is provided with removable and interchangeable tubes having air-admission channels of different sizes so that the. size of the air channel may be varied to suit the character of the writing. The removable tube may be used as a spring to press the ink-feed tongue against the nib, and may be inserted in a guide-groove in the nib carrier, so as to be held firmly at its rear end and to be elastic at the front, being of such a tension as to hold the inkfeed tongue against the nib up to the greatest bending capacity of the nib. In the form shown, the ink inlet is between the nib g and the tongue f and the air inlet o is formed in the spring tube p which presses the tongue f against the nib and is held in the recess d of the nib-holder a, its rear end engaging a dovetail groove in the holder. The tongue and nib are positioned by means of projections l, i on the tongue and nib-holder respectively and recesses r in the shank of the nib, a ring n holding the nib in position.
