Abstract

1536922 Feeding tobacco to cigarette rod machines HAUNI-WERKE KORBER & CO KG 29 Jan 1976 [6 Feb 1975] 03455/76 Heading A2C Apparatus for supplying tobacco pneumatically to several rod machines comprises a plurality of conveying tubes 7a..7d, each tube being provided at its discharge end with a hook 26 for separating the tobacco from the compressed air and supplying the former to an associated rod machine, and at its other end with a feed device 6a..6d and a tobacco store 1a..1d. Each tobacco store is provided with a monitoring device 12a..12d, 13a.. 13b to determine the amount of tobacco therein and thus control the supply of tobacco from a common supply conveyor. As shown, the common supply conveyor is a chute 14 pivotable flaps 16a..16d being provided to control the flow of tobacco into the respective stores. In a second embodiment (Fig. 2 not shown) the common supply conveyor is a belt conveyor moveable on rails to supply the various stores.
