Abstract
1536871 Measuring curved surfaces MARCONI CO Ltd 10 Dec 1975 [2 Jan 1975] 14/75 Heading G1M A dish aerial 4 may have its surface checked by positioning a block 6 at its centre which has connected to it a tape 2 fixed at its other end to arms (8) Fig. 3, (not shown) spaced along a shaft (9). A further block 5 disposed at the centre of curvature of the dish is connected to a tape 1 which is fixed at its other end to arms 7 also on the shaft 9, one arm 7 carrying a datum mark 14 which may be aligned with graduations 12 on a slidable dish contacting probe 10. In operation the blocks 5 and 6 permit the parts 1, 2 and 3 to be rotated about the axis A so that the scale 10 may be used to check the variation of the distance of the mark 14 from the dish surface over a circular path. The lengths of 1 and 2 may then be changed according to a colour code so that a further circular path may be described and checked.
