Abstract

1536125 Ignition systems ELTRACORP 25 Nov 1975 [25 Nov 1974] 27156/78 Divided out of 1536124 Addition to 1442787 Heading H2A [Also in Division F1] An ignition system is of the form disclosed in Specification 1,442,787 but has a modified trigger signal-producing rotor comprising a permanent magnet 63 and a magnetic supporting sleeve 73 which are coaxial with the rotor axis, an eccentrically shaped outer magnetic member 75 with a radial slot A in its peripheral portion furthest from the rotor axis so that magnet 63 produces opposite poles at the opposite sides of slot A thereby producing trigger signals in a trigger coil as the slot rotates past the coil and thus producing ignition pulses below a predetermined engine speed, a notch C in member 75 adjacent slot A so that the notch C causes advanced ignition above this speed, and a non- magnetic cup 77 receiving the members 63, 73, 75 and eccentrically configured to dynamically balance the trigger rotor.
