Abstract

1436610 Dynamo - electric machines ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 19 Oct 1973 [21 Oct 1972] 48808/73 Heading H2A An electrical signal transmitter comprises a group 3 of stator polepieces and a group 11 of rotor polepieces, the number of polepieces in one group being an integral multiple of the number of polepieces in the other group, the polepieces 4, 5, 6 of the smaller group 3 being uniformly angularly spaced and being arranged to coincide simultaneously with respective polepieces of the other groups 11 as the rotor rotates, the angle α through which the rotor rotates from one point of coincidence of the polepieces of the two groups to the next point of coincidence being smaller than the angle # through which the rotor rotates to the next again point of coincidence. The ignition generator shown has a rotor 10 with six polepieces 12- 17 and a stator 1 with three polepieces 4, 5, 6. The spacing of the rotor polepieces determines the spacing of the ignition pulses. The generator includes a permanent magnet M and a stationary output coil G. The group 3 of polepieces having the smaller number of polepieces may alternatively be on the rotor, Fig. 3 (not shown), in which case the stator polepieces are spaced apart in the manner of the rotor polepieces shown. The ends of the rotor polepieces may be bent over to extend axially, parallel to the stator polepieces, Fig. 4 (not shown).
