1395976 Dynamo-electric machines GBAUK NECHT GmbH ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIKEN 16 Oct 1972 [16 Oct 1971] 47539/72 Heading H2A In a planar air gap dynamo-electric machine comprising a discoidal rotor 12 disposed adjacent the teeth 20 of a laminated stator core 16 carrying at least one winding, the teeth are formed as the prings of a plurality of U-shaped or comb-shaped laminated members 31 disposed in a polygonal array with the teeth parallel to the axis of rotation of the machine, the laminated members being mounted in respective apertures 32 in a laminated discoidal yoke member 19 disposed transverse to the axis of rotation. The machine shown is an induction motor having rotor short circuit rings 14, 15, the stator being sealed with a non-magnetic partition 24. The stator core has four laminated members 31, each having four teeth 20. The members 31 are arranged in square formation with their bases flush with the rear surface of yoke 19. Alternatively, the base portions of the members 31 may be disposed adjacent the rear surface of the yoke with the teeth 20 passing through apertures in the yoke. The teeth may be of identical or different dimensions and the tooth spacing may be even or non-uniform. The number of members 31 and the number of teeth on each member are optional. Figs. 4 and 5 (both not shown) illustrate a stator core having eight U- shaped laminated members (31<SP>1</SP>) arranged in octagonal array on the yoke.
