[Also in Division F1] As shown, the generator of an ignition system (see also Division F1) is accommodated in a housing 51 of the distributer. Its rotor 50, manufactured from moulded magnetic material, is located on the driving-shaft of the distributer. The winding 55 of the generator is accommodated between two dished caps 56 and 57 made of soft iron. The caps 56, 57 each have on their inner periphery forming the bore for receiving the rotor four prongs 58 or 59 extending in the axial direction to provide stator pole faces and leaving between them so much space that between each two prongs 59 one of the prongs 58 of the lower cap 56 can project and vice versa. Distributed alternately over the periphery of the rotor 50 are four north poles and four south poles which produce a magnetic flux from the prongs 59 over the cap 57 to the lower cap 56 and the flux returns from there through the prongs 58 to the rotor. The direction of flow is reversed with each rotation of the rotor through an angle of 45 degrees.
