Abstract

1535146 Exhaust hood for cooking or working surfaces D D JENSEN 18 Aug 1977 34716/77 Headings F4V F4W and F4X Fumes V from a cooking or working surface 11 are collected by a hood. The fumes are induced to flow through a filter 50 by means of first and second air streams. The first air stream is directed upwardly and forwardly from an elongate opening 20 and the second air stream is directed rearwardly from an elongate opening 70. Vortices occur at V 1 and V 2 . The air for the streams passes down a stack 27 from a blower 31. A second blower 32 draws the fumes and air upwardly through a duct 37 in the stack 27. The stack 27 terminates above a roof (28), Fig. 1 (not shown). Condensate from the fumes drains into a trap 55.
