Abstract
1,095,101. Confining and removing dust &c. in industrial processes. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. Feb. 10, 1966 [Feb. 27, 1965], No. 5946/66. Heading F4X. A ventilating system for the removal of fumes or solid particles arising from a source 1 such as the melt flowing from a pouring ladle into a mould 3 comprises a hood which is connected to a blower duct 5 and an evacuation duct 12, the air from the blower being directed at high velocity by means of guide means 8 to pass close by the source 1. The high velocity air carries the impurities in a path defined by the arrows 18 into a chamber 10 leading to the evacuation duct 12. The entrance to the chamber 10 comprises a wall 11 perforated over its whole surface. The air flow is said to form a curtain 13 shielding the system from ambient air.
