Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to perform soot removing in a chimney by a method wherein air is made to backwardly flow into a chimney to be passed through a dust collector.
CONSTITUTION: When operation is stopped, each damper of 7AW7D is closed and the remaining dampers 9A, 9B, 11A, 11B, and 12 are opened. If a fan 6 is operated in this state, the suction force of the fan 6 operates in a chimney 2 through a bypass flue 10 and a backward flue B, and air is sucked from the top of the chimney 2 to run backward into it. As a result, the soot sticking to the inside of the chimney 2 is peeled off with said backward flow and large pieces of it fall in a hopper 15. Further, small pieces thereof flow with the air flow through a backward flow chimney 8 to be collected into a dust collector 4.
