PURPOSE:To reduce oil and dust contamination on the ventilation fan device by a method wherein at the intake of air flow in a ventilation fan device, a filter with waveform cross section, having a plurality of air holes on the crest parts. CONSTITUTION:At the intake of air flow in ventilation fan device 1, a filter 5 with waveform cross section is provided, which has a plurality of air holes H on its crest parts. When the ventilation stream consisting of oil and smoke sucked by a impeller 2 of the ventilation fan device 1 passes through the filter 5, it collides with the closed part of the filter 5, and then it is sucked from air holes H toward the impeller 2. As a result, oil components are adsorbed and collected on the closed part of the filter 5, the ventilation stream becomes an air stream with extremely small oil components and is discharged to the ventilation fan device. Hence, it is possible to reduce oil and dust contamination on the ventilation fan device.
