Abstract

153,388. Sparks, E. Aug. 8, 1919. Lids, bayonet-joint. - The lid of a tin or container has a flat flange C .and a dished bottom D to which projections E are attached. The container is formed with a flat flange A and an inner edge B having angled teeth with rounded edges. The projections E on the lid are passed through the passages B<1> between the teeth on the container, and the lid is given a partial turn to bring the flanges A, B together. A compressible washer may be inserted between the flanges. The lid may have a handle or knob. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 211/96, [Class 66, Hollow-ware].
