Internal fittings.-Relates to the attachment of moisture-absorbing material, which may in the form of the cakes described in Specification 205,173, [Class 34 (i), Drying gases &c.], to the underside of the lid of a jar or like container. Fig. 1 shows the material contained within a perforated casing 12 resting within a separate plunger retaining ring 14 having an outwardlyturned upper flange 16 which may carry a sealing ring 17 and is cut away at opposite places so that it can be fitted over projections 18 inside the cover and held in place on being turned. The opposed openings may be on the inside of the part 16, as shown in Fig. 3, the projections 18 being formed inside a recessed part 20 of the lid. Fig. 5 shows a construction similar to Fig. 1 but with the casing 12 threaded to screw into the retaining ring. In Fig. 6 the lid is formed with an annular recess to hold the sealing ring 17, the inner edge of the recess having opposed projections 23 co-operating with openings in an internal flange 24 on the retaining ring. In place of bayonet connections, the retaining rings may be adapted to screw into the lids.
