Abstract

1533652 Moulded shoe soles SHOE & ALLIED TRADES ASSOCIATION 12 Nov 1975 [13 Nov 1974] 49117/74 Heading A3B [Also in Division C3] In a method of making shoes in which an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer sole is injection moulded in situ on to a shoe upper, the upper is treated with a composition comprising a chlorinated polyolefin and a thermoplastic ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, optionally with an organic polyisocyanate. The upper may be of leather or polyvinyl chloride. The chlorinated polyolefin may be chlorinated polyethylene or chlorinated rubber, and the polyisocyanate 4, 4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate. The upper may be pretreated with a urethane adhesive.
