Abstract

153,099. Scott, H. Aug. 1, 1919. Hand-actuation.-Relates to locking-devices for wagon-brake levers. To the lever bare pivoted two pawls c, c<1> engaging with racks a, the two pawls or the two racks being set half a tooth apart in known fashion. The lever b also carries a pivoted handle k to which is attached a pivoted plate m, which, when the handle k is raised, strikes against the teeth of the pawls and releases them from the racks as shown. A flat surface l on the handle comes in contact with surfaces g, h on the end of the lever to limit the motion of the handle. The pawls are made thicker towards their points to allow adjustment for wear.
