Abstract

Hand actuation. - A locking-device for the main levers of railway-wagon brakes comprises a pawl 22 carried by the lever and adapted to engage teeth 20 of a rack 19 to hold the brakes on, and to rest in teeth 21 to retain the brakes off. The pawl is provided with a pivot pin 24, to the end of which is secured a handle 26 and a weight 27 arranged to move the pawl out of engagement with the rack. The main levers at opposite sides of the wagon are geared together by toothed quadrants.
