Abstract

1528632 Timing ignition HONDA GIKEN KOGYO KK 18 Nov 1975 [28 Nov 1974] 47501/75 Heading F1B Control apparatus adapted to be interposed between an intake passage 1 of an internal combustion engine and a vacuum actuator 3, of a type employed for spark timing control, comprises a suction pipe 2 for connection to the engine intake passage, a control pipe 5 for connection to the vacuum actuator, a check-valve 6 providing the only communication between the suction pipe 2 and the control pipe 5 to permit flow toward the engine intake passage but to prevent reverse flow, a flow restrictor element 7 communicating with the control pipe 5 and means 8, 14 connecting the flow restrictor element to atmosphere, whereby in use of the apparatus high suction pressure in the engine intake passage opens the check-valve 6 to cause rapid actuation of the vacuum actuator 3 in one direction while low suction pressure in the passage causes the check-valve 6 to close, closing of the check-valve 6 permitting entry of atmospheric air through the flow restrictor element 7 to cause slow movement of the vacuum actuator in the other direction. The flow restrictor element 7 is of porous sintered metal.
