Abstract

1525951 Casks; bushes for bungholes GRUNDY (TEDDINGTON) Ltd 12 Jan 1976 [10 Jan 1975] 1185/75 Heading B8T A metal, preferably aluminium, cask comprises a bunghole 12 having an upstanding collar or ring 11, either of the same metal as the cask or one that does not produce electrolytic corrosion with the metal of the cask, preferably welded therearound, and a sleeve liner 14, preferably of steel, encircled by the collar 11 with a layer 15 of electrically non-conducting material, preferably a synthetic plastics material, e.g. nylon, between the collar and sleeve liner, the lower portions of the sleeve liner 14 and layer 15 being out-turned below the collar preferably into a circular recess (13), Fig. 2 (not shown), the upper portions of the sleeve liner and layer being flanged (as at 14a in the case of the liner) so that the sleeve liner is firmly secured in the collar or ring but electrically insulated therefrom.
