Abstract

1525921 Powered gripper R F DERRICK 17 Nov 1975 [15 Aug 1974] 35885/74 Heading B8H A front loader attachment for a tractor comprises a pair of front loader arms 12, a frame 20 mounted on the arms to pivot about a first axis, a hydraulic ram 36 to effect such rotation, a pair of tines 44, 46 pivotally mounted on the frame by pins 48, 50 inserted in selected apertures 41, 42 and a ram 52 to pivot the tines to grip a load. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), for handling big bales, sleeves (70) fit over respective tines and each mount a curved plate (88), (90) for rotation about a horizontal axis. The plates are interconnected by a tie-bar (92) and are each acted upon by a ram (78) to rotate a bale, once gripped, from a horizontal position to a vertical position.
