Compasses and dividers.-In compasses &c. having a head a with a bifurcated end a<1> in which cone bearings are mounted, the cone bearings 1 are formed integral with cheek plates 2, 3 which are screwed into the bifurcations, the limbs b of the compass &c. being conically recessed at b<1> to seat the cone surfaces 1. A bolt or screw 7 passes through the cheek 3 and the limbs band screws into the cheek 2, the cheek 3 being recessed to receive the head of the bolt.
