1524395 Tamperproof closure JOHNSEN & JORGENSEN (PLASTICS) Ltd 14 Sept 1976 [19 Sept 1975] 38547/75 Heading B8T The neck of a container body 1 (Fig. 1) has a screwthread 3 at the top and a pair of lugs 4 at the bottom. A cap 7 (Fig. 5) for tamperproof sealing of the container has a corresponding screwthread 9, lugs 10 for engagement pawl and ratchet style with lugs 4, and an outward taper from top to bottom. Fig. 7 shows the engagement of the lugs in plan view from below. To remove the cap, pressure is applied to the cap or body at points 90 degrees from the engaging lugs, to distort the cap or body and thus release the engagement, after which unscrewing is possible. In a modification, webs formed on the internal surface of the cap replace the lugs 10.
