Abstract

1524259 Gas turbine plant; combustion chambers V D Lewis 12 Nov 1976 [14 Nov 1975 22 Dec 1975] 46966/75 and 52298/75 Headings FIG and F1L [Also in Division F4] A turbine plant comprises an inward flow compressor 3d supplying air to a rotating combustion chamber 7 into a port-combustion region of which water is injected through ducts 23, the combustion gas/water mixture flowing outwardly to reaction jets so as to drive turbine 2d. As shown, the latter drives compressor 3d via chains and sprockets 75 77 etc., but in a modification Fig. 1, (not shown) the compressor and turbine are rigidly connected. In a further arrangement Fig. 4, (not shown) a separate power output turbine is provided. The turbine exhaust stream pre-heats the water in a direct contact heater (20), Fig. 3, (not shown).
