Abstract

1519721 Taximeters W E GREEN 13 May 1977 [15 May 1976] 20177/76 Heading G4T A taximeter has solid state digital electronic circuits and a programmable memory of governing a display of the taximeter, which memory is adapted to have its programme changed by data from an external detachable master programmer N. In operation the signal of distance pulses come from distance transducer head L and are passed to the trigger input of a retriggerable monostable 11 and to a gate 13 whereby, if the spacing between the distance pulses is less than the duration of the output of the monostable, the gate is opened by said output to allow the distance pulses to pass to a distance counter G and, if the spacing between the distance pulses is greater than the duration of the output of the monostable, a bi-stable 16 is toggled to enable a timer circuit D, C to feed the information to time counting circuitry.
