1518893 Tinning Ti, Ta or Zr IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 9 Feb 1977 [12 Feb 1976] 05601/76 Addition to 1236997 Heading C7F [Also in Division B3] A surface of an article, other than a sheet, of Ti, Ta, Zr or alloys thereof is "tinned" by contacting the surface with molten tinning metal or alloy and moving an ultrasonically-excited probe over the surface. The tinning metal or alloy may be Sn, Zn, and binary alloys of Sn, Zn, Cd, Pb, Bi. The head of the probe is preferably shaped to conform to that of the article.
