Abstract
1449260 Coating with metals by melting powdered metal SHELL INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 3 Sept 1973 [5 Sept 1972] 41378/73 Heading C7F Chemical processing plant including an ironcontaining component is protected by applying a powdered mixture of a metal, e.g. Al, Al-Ag or Ni or Co alloys, and a flux, maintaining the surface at a temperature such that the flux is liquid, and then heating to melt the powdered metal. Excess flux may be removed, after cooling, by washing. The surface may be tubular, and it may be rotated during coating. The mixture may also contain the oxides of K, Fe, Zr or Cr or potassium carbonate.
