Abstract

1531222 Coating with bearing metals by spraying VANDERVELL PRODUCTS Ltd 10 Dec 1975 [10 Sept 1974 26 Sept 1974] 39494/74 and 41892/74 Headings C7A and C7F An alloy of A1, with one of Fe, Ni, Mn, Cr cr Si, and one of Pb, Sn, In or Sb is melt sprayed by e.g. the apparatus described in Specification 1359486 on to a substrate ( steel) by melting either the alloy or the separate metals, allowing the molten metal to fall by gravity and directing gas jets on to the falling metal. The substrate may be pre-heated to a maximum of 450‹C in a reducing atmosphere . The coating may be milled, rolled, and annealed. The coating may be subsequently sprayed, plated or roll bonded with alloys of Al-Pb-Sn or -Sb, Al-Sn, Pb-Sn-Cu, and Pb-In. The alloy compositions may be as follows:- or
