Abstract

PURPOSE:A specific refractory metal is deposited on its surface with a different composition refractory metal, and melted by heat to form a coating alloy layer of both metals, thereby providing a superheat material coating having layer highly resistant against oxidation. CONSTITUTION:Mo or Mo base alloy refractory metal containing more than 50% by weight of metal with melting point of 1600 deg.C or higher is coatedon its surface with Cr powder or like, and exposed to a high energy source such as plasma, electron beam, laser beam, etc, to be melted and alloyed with the surface of the base refractory metal to form coating layer. Through such process, a good bonding force is provided to the coating layer, resulting in refractory metal parts highly resistant against thermal shock, peeling, oxidation, and plasma attacking.
