Water-circulation, apparatus for promoting.- To promote the water-circulation in a fire-tube boiler, a circulating-pump a is placed inside the boiler near the normal water-level, and is so connected by a suction pipe b to the bottom of the water space that water is drawn upwards and discharged at or near the tops of the furnaces. In a marine boiler, the pump is placed above the combustion chambers. The pump may be driven mechanically or by a turbine mounted on the pump spindle and driven by steam from the boiler.
