Abstract

1516578 Dynamo-electric machines ITT FLUID HANDLING 25 May 1976 21638/76 Heading H2A A waterproof electric pump comprises an electric motor driving an impeller 3, a waterproof housing 16 which includes a flexible sleeve embracing the motor casing 1 and a waterproof seal 5, 6 between the housing and the drive for the impeller. The flexible sleeve is free to expand to relieve the seal of any pressure differential. The motor supply cable 24 is sealed by an O-ring 21 held in place by a brass ferrule 22. The seal housing 7 is made of metal, e.g. bronze, to conduct heat away from the seals.
