Abstract
1516504 Magnetrons ENGLISH ELECTRIC VALVE CO Ltd 2 July 1975 [11 July 1974] 30686/74 Heading H1D In a multicavity magnetron with an anode block in the form of a cylinder 1, Fig. 2, the resonant cavities are formed by axial slots 2 which extend between the radially inner and outer surfaces of the cylinder. The intervening solid portions of the cylinder are connected alternately to a pair of straps 3 and 6 located outside the cylinder-or inside, for an exerted arrangement-the output conductor 9 being also connected to alternate solid portions-7 and 8, shown-and extending into an output waveguide (13, Fig. 3, not shown), the cathode 10, Fig. 5, entering the cylinder from the opposite end. The magnetron may be of rising sun type (Fig. 4, not shown) and may be tuned by the axial movement of a conductive cylinder 17, Fig. 5, which is insulated from the anode cylinder by a plastics ring 18.
