Abstract
1514806 Stamping apparatus E A CARDOSO 10 July 1975 [24 June 1975] 29045/75 Heading B6C Stamping apparatus comprises a hollow body 1 having an opening at one end, a stamp 4 within the body mounted for movement towards and away from the spring to stamp an article placed thereadjacent, means, e.g. spring 8, for biasing the stamp away from the opening, means, e.g. solenoid 5 and armature 6, for advancing the stamp towards the spring, and control means, e.g. intermittently energized solenoid 9 whose magnetic field opposes that of solenoid 5, for repetitively opposing the action of the advancing means so that, in use, the stamp is oscillated to and from the position adjacent the opening. The operator, therefore only needs to place the apparatus adjacent a substrate to be printed using handle 2, switch on, and present successive articles to be stamped, the impression being effected, in the embodiment shown electrically.
