Abstract

1379645 Print hammers PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 6 July 1972 [9 July 1971] 31714/71 Heading B6F A print hammer comprises a metal strip bent into U-shape, the central portion surrounded by a synthetic resin impact beam 15 and the legs 3, 7 being provided with synthetic resin bodies 17, 16 to permit the legs to be clamped. The strip may be interrupted at 35 so that the legs 3, 7 can be used as conductors to provide current to a coil 25 for driving the hammer. The legs extend beyond the bodies 17, 16 as at 1, 9 to provide electrical connections. The legs 3, 7 may taper towards the beam 15. The break in the central portion of the strip may be formed by drilling or may be provided for by extending the strip sideways (13, Fig. 1, not shown) and cutting off the lateral extensions.
