Abstract

1432508 Selective printing FACIT AB 29 May 1974 [30 May 1973] 23741/74 Heading B6F [Also in Divisions H1 and F2] An electromagnetic apparatus for marking or punching an information carrier with e.g. holes or print carriers comprises an arm 10 of, e.g., GRP with long and short legs 11, 12 at right angles of which the end of the longer carries a hard punch or print tip 14 (Figs. 1, 2). The arm 10 is carried by grooves 16, 17 of a leaf spring 15 and soldered or welded thereto. The spring central portion 19 is grooved and its side portions 20 define fastening members 21 with attachment holes 22 and a resilient portion 23. The portion 19 is angled to correspond with arm 10 and carries riveted armature 24 attachable by an electromagnet to rotate the arm about the resilient portion of the leaf spring 15 to deflect the print tip upwards. The spring and arm are screwed through fasteners 21 to frame 26 (Fig. 3) carrying U-shaped magnet core 27; the tip 18 being positioned relative to the carrier, e.g., paper sheet punched tape, and the vrame is screwed to a base. An air gap 32 is shaped corresponding to armature 24 and the core winding 34 on energization of which arm 10 is rotatable to mark the carrier and is returned by the leaf spring on de-energization against an, e.g., rubber clamper 35.
